The City of Brussels (165,000 inhabitants) is one of the most important employers in the Brussels Region: 3800 people work there in varied and dynamic jobs in the service of the citizen.
The municipal administration is divided into 11 large departments: its services include crèches, a large school network, road and park maintenance, as well as real estate and numerous rental apartments.
In addition to cultural life, sporting events and the reception of foreign delegations at the City Hall on the Grand-Place, the City of Brussels registers births and deaths and processes requests for identity papers.
